SPRING SCHOOL LOGO.JPGSpring School

Our annual series of lectures aiming to stretch us, especially our thinking about the Christian life following Christ. Each year over three weeks Will our Vicar, brings to us the fruit of his labours on a particular topic from the Bible and Christian thought, as we seek together to 'Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.'

2014: Apologetics

According to the apostle Peter, every Christian person is called to be an ‘apologist’ (one who defends their Faith) 'But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer (apologia) to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.' (1 Peter 3:15-16)

And from the beginning, Christian people have worked hard to make a fist of this, as a critically important aspect of our interface with the world around us.

How much would you see yourself as an ‘apologist’? When was the last time you had to give an account of why you believe? Or were questioned about the evidence underpinning your belief? And how prepared do you feel to respond to the questions people are asking today?

Come along to Spring School this year to consider the questions people are (& aren’t) asking about the Faith, and how you might respond:
Tuesday nights 7:30pm 2, 9, and 16 September.
